NEWS 1130’s Toby Kerr, who is originally from Toronto, is at a bar on Burrard and Fifth in Vancouver. He says it’s crowded.
“It’s very exciting how the whole country seems to coming together behind the Toronto Raptors right now, in the same way when the Blue Jays made their run in 2015-2016, you could feel everyone coming together,” he says.

Meantime, Travis Prasad with CityNews Vancouver is at a viewing part at Rogers Arena.
“A lot of people are here to take in the game on the big screen, get a little bit of food and drink with their game, but even if you can’t stomach the idea of cheering for a team from Toronto, or if you just don’t like basketball at all, there’s no denying that this is a historic moment for Canadian basketball,” he says. “This is the first time a Canadian team has made it to the NBA finals.”
Even movie theatres are getting in on the action: three Cineplex theatres are showing the game tonight.
