VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – The latest winner in NEWS 1130’s Unsung Hero contest is Daisy Lee of Port Coquitlam. She was nominated for the award by Mike Vardy.
Here’s her story:
[Daisy] has done over 200 hours of volunteer work for JDRF, Sun Run, BC Cancer Relay and for non-profit sport organizations. She not only just does volunteer work, but she always goes above and beyond what her duties call for.
Daisy often stays behind to help out with the clean up and she also re-organizes all the other volunteers for the next shift. She has received a super star award from the Sun Run volunteering group and she is also a mother and working two jobs.
Daisy takes care of her elderly parents by cooking all three meals for them before she goes to work.
On the weekend, she will take her kids to do volunteer work and also provides mentor-ship for junior sports player. She truly is an amazing human being.
