ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) — If you can hold onto an angry, bucking bull for eight seconds, you’re among the best out there, and tonight you can witness some of the best in Abbotsford.
The PBR Monster Energy Tour returns to Abbotsford Centre and Jason Davidson, director of operations for Professional Bull Riding Canada, says it’s always a special event and expects another big crowd, who he says do not get to these bull riding events as often as Canadians do in Alberta or Saskatchewan.
“So we’ve been just shy of sell-outs the last two years, so we’re hoping nothing short of that,” Davidson says. “It might not be always the largest crowd by numbers, but it’s the loudest crowd, there’s no question about that.”
Davidson adds local riders always enjoy local support and this year fans will be able to see to see B.C.’s Jackson Scott vying for a top spot.
Bull riders will be able to place in the top 20 and qualify for the Canadian championship in Saskatoon, Sask., in November.
Over $20,000 dollars will be awarded at tonight’s Professional Bull Riding event, which starts at 7 p.m.
